The Billabong Bro Down Slopestyle presented by Xperia Sony Smartphone returns once again to Snowpark NZ this August. After a return to Slopestyle format last winter in anticipation of the rising popularity in world-class slopestyle events and the addition of a 4-star TTR ranking, The Bro Down is set to be one of the most exciting international snow-sports events this winter.
NZ is widely regarded as the best location for international teams and athletes to train in their off-season including all of the Southern hemispheres top riders which makes the Bro Down one of the most hotly contested slopestyle events anywhere in the world at the time. In years past the competitor list has featured many of the world’s top riders including 3-time Open Woman’s champion and top ranked TTR rider Jamie Anderson who is set to return to defend her title.
There will be a training and event registration day at Snowpark NZ on Thursday 2nd August, Friday the 3rd will feature preliminary rounds for Open Men and Women and the Junior event. Saturday 4th August is set to jump off big time as the competitors’ battle it out in the finals for the top spot and a place on the podium. Following the event on Saturday night will the legendary Bro Down after party featuring Auckland City’s infamous party-starting DJ set The ARC and the Home Brew Crew. The Billabong Bro Down is one event you do not want to miss this winter, be there!
Billabong is putting on free buses running on both competition days, Friday and Saturday from Wanaka up the hill to Snowpark. Buses leave from Good Sports in Wanaka at 7am and 8am, returning from Snowpark at 5pm on Friday 3rd. Same deal for Saturday 4th with more buses leaving after the Woolshed party at 11pm and 12am.
