More bounce to the ounce, more thump for your rump! If you intend to go large at Mardi Gras this is the only place to be if you love house, tech, bootlegs and mash-ups!
If you've ever been to a Mardi Gras party at the Matterhorn (above the Powderkeg) – you'll know what to expect! For the uninitiated - Bump is the biggest ticketed after-party in town, so by getting a pre-sale you can avoid freezing your ass off on the street and trying to get into a bar.
DJs Ange, Soane & Tim Richards have supported countless internationals over the years and all have featured on major events across New Zealand and internationally. It's gonna be 7 hours of non-stop woohoo!
The deck from the Matterhorn is a great place to watch the street party below, and it's arguably the best venue in town. 2012 Mardi Gras will be be hoooooooge!
Your $40+BF ticket gets you a Jägermeister + RedBull (Jägerbomb) on arrival and a ’sweet as’ spot to watch Mardi Gras, get drinks without standing in for ages, use clean toilets (not portaloos eeeew), aaaand unlimited amounts of "yeah bro this is wiiicked" and "OMFG!"
For the last 3 years Bump Mardi Gras sold out 2+ weeks in advance and tickets are already selling fast so if you don't wanna miss out get your tickets now! There won't be any doorsales, this is strictly a pre-sale event.
- Ange -
Bump founder Ange is winging her way back from Sydney for the night. She's been a regular at the Powderkeg since 2004 and has been playing clubs for over 11 years now. She's supported the likes of Derrick Carter, Justin Harris, James Curd, Brett Johnson, Kevin Saunderson, Detroit Grand Pubahs, Chris Duckenfield, Inland Knights, Kenny Larkin, Gene Farris and local heros Antix. You can expect to hear her dropping everything from house to tech; jacked-up bootlegs, bass heavy four-to-the floor thumpers and solid up-tempo tech with the odd ghetto booty banger thrown in for extra kapow!
- Soane -
If you don't know who Soane is, you must have been living in a cave or raised by wolves! Soane is the don of the NZ dance scene. His heavy-handed, slap you in the bum style of house music has made him a crowd favourite for years. He has inspired a new generation of DJs and continues to lay it down. You can hear him on George FM from 2-4pm weekdays - I reckon he's a bit more tame on the radio. You've really gotta hear him in a club, after dark on a beefy sound system to witness his twilight alter-ego "Big Daddy lord of the dancefloor sizzle" in action. Boom boom!
- Tim Richards -
If Tim was a fart he'd be a silent violent. He's killer, and surprisingly strong. He sneaks up on you with a kick-ass tune and goes whoopah! Tim has been quietly making tunes, and making waves around the world. His tracks and remixes have been played by the likes of John Digweed, Funk D'Void, Sasha, Laurent Tony Humphries as well as featuring on Pete Tong's Essential Mix show. Aaaand he's remixed tracks for the likes of Infusion, Magik Johnson, P-Money, Fiord & Antix.
