William Brown, a New Zealand veteran of the ANZAC campaign in Greece, responds to a request from young playwright Laurence to consult on a theatre production of the war novel that made him famous. Recounting his story, William is obliged to relive a part of his life he thought he had left behind.
Shot entirely on weekends on location in Auckland with a volunteer team, Journey of a Story is a tribute to a generation of Kiwi men, women, and their families that dealt with not only the war years but the difficult times they endured afterwards.
Featuring a soundtrack performed by the New Zealand Symphony orchestra and contributions by over a hundred volunteers.
The Regent Cinema is proud to host the South Island premiere of this film on the evening of Anzac Day 2012. This is especially relevant as George Parrish, whose own personal history the story is inspired by, is from the Ashburton region.
Ticketing available from the cinema.
