Hamilton scores exclusive game this September!
The 2011 ANBL champion SKYCITY Breakers have confirmed their only North Island pre-season game will be at Claudelands Arena on Saturday September 15th against Australia’s Wollongong Hawks.
The Breakers are to visit Hamilton with their full playing roster of stars including Tom Abercrombie, CJ Bruton, Dillon Boucher, Mika Vukona and Daryl Corletto – all of who have re-signed with the Breakers for another season.
“This will be our final full on pre-season game before the new campaign and, as an important build up for the new season, fans will be in for a treat” said General Manager Richard Clarke. “We are delighted to be returning to the impressive Claudelands Arena after a fantastic event last year. We see this venue as one of New Zealand’s finest and we know the team has a huge fan base in this region”.
Breakers point guard CJ Bruton agrees “Of all the venues we play in Australia and New Zealand this is one of our favourites. The design of the arena brings the fans right up close to the action and we love it this way... plus the court is great and we always get an awesome reception from the fans”
Demand for tickets to this pre-season tour finale will be huge following the Breakers recent NBL success and sold out NZ games in which full houses have set a crowd attendance record for basketball in New Zealand.
Claudelands Director of Business Development and Marketing Murray Jeffrey said “We are proud and excited to welcome the Breakers back to Claudelands Arena in 2012 for another exciting trans-Tasman face-off against the Wollongong Hawks. The last match proved the level of demand in the Waikato for events of this calibre, and with the strong local support for basketball and the Breakers, we are expecting tickets to sell out. Once again, local sports fans have the chance to witness one of NZ’s finest sports teams in what is sure to be world class basketball - so don’t miss out”!
On sale - 9am Tuesday 1st May.
