Head up to Waipu this Easter Saturday to the annual Waipu Carnival at the Caledonian Park, where everything from good old-fashioned handmade toffee apples to artisan cakes and cookies, creamy hand-crafted fudge, espresso coffee, delicious preserves, funky gifts and potted plants are all up for grabs.
What’s more, there will be all-time favourites like the Merry-go-round, Bouncy Castle and Princess Palace. Plus there will be rides and games galore, from the ever-popular giant slippery slide, rock wall, log joust and mini hot-rod races, through to face painting, mini golf and archery.
Quick-fire raffles for beautiful baskets bursting with a range of aromatic treats are bound to be snapped up fast!
Furthermore, in true country style, the carnival’s annual mad lawn mower race will see contestants battle it out to take out this year’s title.
And it’s all for a good cause: all funds raised at this year’s carnival will go towards building a covered shade area to keep the children at Waipu Primary School warm and dry in the absence of a school hall.
So for a great day out of live entertainment, delicious festive fare, games and rides galore and good old-fashioned community spirit, head up to Waipu and join in the fun.
