Dunedin often embraces the gothic with its architecture, literature, music, and more recently in its city brand script. This event takes a walk through the dark side of the cities gothic heritage with a blend of poetry, music and photography.

Poet Ian Loughran, musician Stephen Killroy and photographer Michelle Chalklin Sinclair collaborate on an evening for the bold and inquisitive.

Ian Loughran is an acclaimed published and performance poet who has enjoyed sell-out events in Australia, the UK and New Zealand (Including the 2014 Dunedin Fringe Festival). He was award-nominated at the 2009 Dunedin Fringe Festival. He has curated many successful events combining poetry and music most recently at the Dunedin Readers And Writers Festival 2017.

Stephen Kilroy is an acclaimed musician and played an important role in the Dunedin sound of the 1980’s. He has been a member of the bands Chug, Stephen, King Loser and Heka.

Michelle Chalklin-Sinclair has enjoyed many plaudits for her photography not least for her bestselling combined photography and recipe book the ‘Dunedin Fonebook’.

The event will be a haunting theatrical journey using spoken word, music, lighting and photographic imagery set in the heritage surroundings of Dunedin’s iconic Otago Pioneer Women’s Memorial Building. The venue has limited capacity, don’t miss out.
